Trainer Profile

Annie Oberlin-Harris BSc (Hons)

Swimming & Triathlon Coach

I have always had a passion for sport; I have numerous district, county and national sporting achievements and awards in multiple sports including swimming, running and triathlon.  I have a BSc in Sports and Exercise Science and Psychology and am a fully qualified and insured swimming teacher, triathlon coach, personal trainer and spinning instructor.  I have trained with Swim Smooth in Perth, Australia under the expert eyes and award winning coaches Paul Newsome and Adam Young.  I now coach and project lead for Swim Smooth.  Outside of this role I offer swimming coaching, triathlon coaching and seminars for individuals and groups, from complete beginner to athletes.

I regularly compete in triathlons. I was fourth in my age group at the Blenheim Triathlon and 1st in my age group at the Thame Triathlon in 2010. I had a two minute lead coming out the water but then dropped three positions after coming out transition without my number at the Seaford Triathlon in 2012- doh! I competed in the world championship qualifying Ironman 70.3 Wimbleball 2013, earning a respectable time and position.  Since witnessing Paul train immensely hard and subsequently win the mighty 46km Manahattan Island Swim, my personal focus for 2013 has switched to competitive Open Water swimming events- check back to see how I got on!I am a former committee member and coach for Oxford Triathlon Club.  Being a scientist I like to keep myself up to date by attending industry recognised courses to keep my techniques fresh and modern.
